Project Summary
Kasey was actually a previous customer with ONiT Painting, so we were very excited to work with her again! She hired us to paint her father’s home and had a great experience. So, when it came to choosing a company for her new exterior painting project, she knew ONiT was the way to go!
Problem To Solve
This home, while stunning, is very distinctly Victorian. So, finding ways to modernize it proved to be quite the challenge for Kasey and the ONiT team. The goal was to keep the eye-catching charm of the home without it looking like it was stuck back in Victorian times.
Our Solution
We paired Kasey up with our Color Consultant to come up with a solution! Kasey came up with inspiration pictures of what she wanted the home to look like, and Luiza created renderings based on these images.
Renderings are extremely helpful when deciding the colors for your home, especially when it’s an exterior painting project as large as this. It’s almost impossible to see what the final product will look like through samples and paint swatches. With a rendering, you get peace of mind in seeing the final look (digitally, of course) before having to fully commit to it.
Whether you do it yourself through Sherwin-Williams Colorsnap Visualizer or hire a professional to create one for you, we highly recommend getting a rendering before completing the exterior painting.
With some adjustments and a lot of deliberation, Kasey came to a final decision on her colors!
Color Selections
Kasey chose SW0066 Cascade Green for the main body of the house. This is a beautiful light green color that adds gives the home such a joyful look, and definitely still emphasizes its charming architectural details. For the fish scale detailing, she went with SW6222 Riverway to add some depth and visual interest to the color palette. The trim color ended up being SW7571 Casa Blanca. This is a beautiful timeless cream color that helped blend the home’s vintage vibes with the new modern color palette. Lastly, she chose SW6897 Sundance for a fun pop of color on the front door.

Exterior Painting Process
- Power Washing
- We power wash all surfaces that will be painted to remove dirt and mildew. This step is not only good for your home, it also prevents any rough patches in the painting and makes it much easier for the paint to adhere.
- Surface Preparation
- We hand scrape loose and peeling paint and prime all necessary areas.
- Clean Up
- We will apply one-two finish coats based on the goal of your project. With color changes, we usually recommend two coats to achieve a uniform finish.
- Paint Application
- We will clean up daily upon completion, leaving your home and property exactly as we found it. You’d never know we were there if it wasn’t for the beautiful paint job!
- Final Inspection
- Our Project Manager will complete a final inspection to ensure that the entire scope of work has been completed and our quality standards have been met.
Final Result
” They were absolutely amazing to work with! This was no easy project – Our home is very similar to a Victorian home with color and character and they did a fantastic job painting it to bring it to life!
We interviewed/received estimates from several companies between last summer and this spring wanting to ensure we hired the best company for this project since it included so much detail work – ONit Painting was by far the best company. Their process start to finish is unlike any other tradesman we’ve worked with. They embody customer service I feel you just don’t see anymore.
They communicated efficiently – pre-planned the project well, had a project manager oversee start to finish, had a solid crew that worked hard and cleaned up each day, and then they did a final walk through with us to ensure we were happy. Which we were! On top of all of that, their pricing was fair for the job to be done. Well worth the quality they bring. We just couldn’t be happier with the job they did and we love our newly painted home! Highly recommend! Thanks! ” – Kasey
