Spend Less Than $2,000 with these Cost Effective Painting Projects
It is true that painting is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to renovate your home. However, if you are painting a large or very detailed area it can still rack up quite the bill. With everything that happened this year, we know that now isn’t the time to be spending an exorbitant amount of money on projects, so we’ve accumulated a list of painting projects that will give you the update you’re looking for without breaking the bank.
The price to paint a home will vary based upon the style and size. However, on an average sized home in Indiana, these projects should cost around or below $2,000 when completed by a professional. Check out our blog on DIY vs. Hiring a Professional Painter to see which option is best for you.
The easiest way to change the look of your home without spending a lot of money is by adding accent walls! This gives a room a central focal point, and elevates the style of the entire space. There are a couple of ways accent walls can be done.
Pop of Color
If you love color, but think painting your entire home in it would be overwhelming, an accent wall is for you! This allows you to play with bright and bold tones in a sophisticated and stylish manner.
Say you prefer neutrals, but still want to give your room some dimension. This is when using contrasting neutral colors would work wonderfully. An example of this is painting the room an off white color, like SW7008 Alabaster and adding an accent wall of a light brown such as SW7690 Townhall Tan.
Slight Shade Variance
A very modern way to add an accent wall is making it either two shades lighter or two shades darker than the rest of the room. It still adds visual interest, while keeping the over all feel of the room cohesive.
Your entryway is, obviously, the first thing that guests see when they enter your home. It is important that it is reflective of your personal style. This will make not only your guests, but you and the members of your household excited to come home. It is a large payoff for a small investment, and will create a new and welcoming atmosphere for you to come home to after a long day.
Painted wood is extremely trendy right now, and still growing in popularity. If you don’t like the current wood or stain that is on your stair railing, consider painting it! You’d be surprised at how much it can elevate your space.
The living room is usually the heart of a home. It is the space for family gatherings, game nights, TV marathons, and couch cuddling. It’s important that this room is inviting and warm; a place you want to spend a lot of time in. Even in homes with larger open concept living spaces, the price to paint is usually not too high.
If you’re looking to enhance the Exterior of your house, but don’t want to break the bank, painting the trim is a great option for you! You can paint the trim any color you’d like, but my personal favorite is bright white, like SW7006 Extra White. It is very versatile in that it looks good on many different styles of homes. Bright white trim adds a cleanliness and modern look to the Exterior of your home, and is usually an extremely reasonable price.
